No turbos this time around. The nitrous should be sufficient.
On a side note i am trying to figure out the tire situation. I plan to reuse the wheels and tires for next years s10 build. The s10 will probably be kept for awhile and run locally in SCCA CAM class. Since that rules out race tires, i am limited to 255 40 17s in the popular street tires. I would prefer a 275 40 17 but am limited other then race tires. What does the hive think?

i'm intrigued by the nitto NT05, treadware rating 200 and comes in 275/40 17, but I'm not sure it will beat the re71R or the rival s in 255/40 17.
The toyo r1r is available in the 275/40/17 as is the falken azenis rt615k. Would a 255/40/17 bridgestone be faster? Or should i go with the proper size falken or toyo.

I think the cheaper one will be faster. My bet would be on the thinner tires for speed.
Ordered roll cage today. Now i just need to figure out the tire situation.
I just put in for time off so that I can get down there to help build this monster!
Great. Rest of roll cage is slated for arrival tomorrow. Pics will follow.
What is the schedule for the build like? I should be there noonish on Thursday, and will be dedicating as much of my time as possible to this thing.
Should I bring a sawzall? Mine has a quick release for the blades, I've been practicing and can swap one in about 5 seconds
Bring it There is no telling where we will be build wise at noon. With the fiero we were sittimg in lawn chairs staring at it drinkimg beer. Hopefully this build will be more organized...
So my new tires arrived and I went to the lot yesterday to pickup the wheels only to discover that some dirt bag had stolen one of my corvette wheels. If anyone has a lead on one 17x9.5 corvette wheel let me know...
Thanks
Instant message me your paypal info and I will send you some money. The GRM forum is the bomb!
Will do when I get home. Usually post on my phone...
Do you want to try to find someone coming through nc to save on shipping?
No I will pay the shipping. Only one wheel worth will hit the budget. I want to get the tires mounted soon so I don't need to contend with it before the race.

My daughter should be there again this year. She is working on her welding degree and would be happy to help out with any welding needing done.

Dammit, I've got a set of sawblades taking up space in my garage. I should have been on here yesterday instead of focusing on work, LOL.

Honestly, I'm one to just jump in and do something and hope others join in. Some progress is better than no progress.
If it weren't for the ghettocet parking lot build, I'd probably not attend this year.
In reply to Derick Freese:
I have an extra meal ticket again if you need.
I'm going to unofficially officially promote myself to the job of parts runs if necessary, food and beverages, and the documentation of this build.
Great, it will be greatly appreciated
I will be mounting the tires Wednesday. Other then that the car is ready to be loaded on the trailer.
I need to buy one line for the nitrous setup.
I will be pulling the 5 point harnesses from my track car next week as well for use in the ghettocet.
The hardest part of this build will be the organization beforehand and making sure i bring everything i need. I plan to begin loading the van and the trailer Thursday next week.
