We're looking to thin out the fleet at Flyin' Miata a bit - we had four cars join in very quick succession, and it's getting crowded in the shop. We're done with R&D on our Catfish, and I'm trying to figure out the best way to sell it. I'd prefer it to be an auction-style sell so that I can put a timeline on it. There's always the option of putting it up on our site and seeing what happens, but that only puts it in front of a very specific audience.
Bring A Trailer is an obvious option although I'm not sure how the commentariat will react to a kit car, even if it is one with a bit of a pedigree. Any other suggestions?
Open classifieds here?
We are some cheap bastards, so that might not bring much more than a, "Awesome car, too bad, (insert why they can't buy it,) good luck with the sale."
I would think BAT is probably your best bet for a auction environment.

If you are worried about the commentariat beating up your car and driving the price down then I would suggest Ebay. It certainly has a few drawbacks that BaT has fixed but it is still a good place to showcase a car and get it front of the world. Plus, you can have a reserve if you are worried the masses will not appreciate the as much as y'all do. I think with the Flyin' Miata name attached to it you should be able to get a reasonable amount.
I won't ask how much on this one.....:) Although man it would be one helluva track toy and it's pretty in person.
If you want top dollar for it, your best bet is to market the car directly to the customers that are familiar with your products. Anybody thats willing to shell out the bucks it takes to have you build them a car, has the money to buy the fish. If you just want it gone, put it up an eBay and post a bunch of links to the auction on sites like this. Mention the reserve price on the sites with links as well as links to your site. It will be gone in 7 days and the cross marketing and traffic to your site may boost your sales as well. Of course, this thread is the beginning of your marketing the car anyway and is already starting to built interest in potential buyers. Brilliant!

As long as the car is presented for what it is, I find that BAT comments stay pretty much on point with most people trying to like what is being offered. The reverse is true in that the self styled experts can be merciless to anything that is being touted as quality or pedigree when it is not.
You guys should be fine.
I'll give $2017 if you deliver to the challenge
