Lets see, having seen Grand Prix, LeMans and Bullit in the theater when they first came out. Oh ya Winning also. I am sorry the biggest big screen can still not do the same as down front at the theater. A great time for movies.

Its near max.
Sorry all, BTW. Meant to put this in the OT forum.
Oh, and Maroon... I get it now. Your quote.
A wonderful 90 minute racing film spliced together with an average 90 minute melodrama. One half of it makes up for the other, and a lot of the finest drivers of those days as "extras" puts it over the top! And remember that when it came out, there weren't any in-car shots on TV every weekend! It was a sensation.
And Garner caught "The Bug" while making it. I can't find any pics of him driving (IIRC, SCCA B Production in Cal Club Region), but here's a good article about the prototype team he owned running at Daytona:

Look for that documentary "The Racing Scene", it's pretty good.
My Flag & Comm group in Atlanta Region SCCA back in the 80s used to have a tradition of speaking to each other using lines from the film, or using Nino Barlini's (Antonio Sabato Sr.) accent. "..my feeerst veeectory was een de grate Targah Flooeero raace..." Good times.
