I had an '09 Si for three years and was wholly disappointed with it. Saying that the new one has "lost edge" is pretty damning, considering how little my '09 had. It was an OK daily driver, but didn't perform well enough, and wasn't fun enough to drive, to be worth the loss in economy and gain in insurance rates over a new one. It was probably the least-fun car I've ever owned.
I happily traded it, plus just $300, for a Mazda 2 last week, and couldn't be happier. I miss my nav system and its bells and whistles a bit, but otherwise I'm enjoying the car a heckuva lot more. My girlfriend has had a Fit for two years, and it's not bad, but I like the Mazda better. A Fit Si would be amazing, but a Mazdaspeed 2 would be spectacular.,
