This may not help (and I may have posted it for you already) but great story about a Corvette powered XKE, motorcycle racer that towed with the XKE to get to the races:

I'm not sure why you'd think I was interested in that?
I've built and raced plenty of Chevy V.8's in my life. Plus I've bought 21 new cars over my working life with Chevy V8's. Plus several others, crate motors for race car haulers, race cars, and boats. They are fine if used as intended.
But when you race them if you don't buy everything aftermarket like NASCAR and serious racers do. You start with the 010 high nickle 4 bolt block and Re machine it back into shape. Then you buy everything else aftermarket or it simply won't hold up to serious racing.
I've never bought one new Jaguar and I never will. But those Jaguar engines yanked from rust buckets or accident damaged cars. For far less than what Chevy's cost. Will last for decades of really serious racing. With nearly stock internals. No machine work needed, very few aftermarket parts required.
Jaguars just are built with higher grade parts than Chevy's.
Back to your original question, there are quite a few XKE race cars seen regularly at vintage races, but I can't remember seeing an XJS race car, ever. And Group 44 cars are so cool. I vote, finish the XJS and bring some variety to the track. And it's closer to done.

.......If Larry wanted the XJS I'd give it to him free and everything required to race it. He put in at least as much work as I did. I'd help him get it running etc. Maybe get a lap or two during the sorting process.
....
Did I miss something? What happened to Larry? Isn't he still involved with the build? Why wouldn't he want it?
Either way, my opinion is that you stick with it and finish the Group 44 XJS.

That's a great point. I hadn't thought of it that way.
In reply to Indy - Guy :
Larry went to Florida to clean out his mothers place all winter. When he came back in the spring he no longer wanted to be involved.
Likely because of how little I got done over the winter. We are still friends, in fact, he offered to let me use his Corvette for an autocross event. Perhaps once it's rolling again he'll be back.
I'd like to see the Group 44 XJS done and on track, but you gotta do what makes you happy.
Seems like the XJS is pretty close. Why not finish it and then think about an XKE?
Most of you guys make sense. But the heart wants what the heart wants.
A big part of last winters depression was over wanting an XKE instead of the XJS but knowing I couldn't do both.
If I build the XJS. I'll probably grab the Weber manifolds, The 5 speed dog ring transmission. And 3:54 positraction differential.
Then the XKE would have to be a drag race only thing. Because with the two Turbochargers I could make some silly horsepower But that would eliminate those chrome wire wheels force me to use a Ford 9 inch rear end.
