Just wanted to make sure before I make comments.
I'd like to see what they do in the sport bike world, but them on the same tires.
This comes from someone who owns a BRZ and has had both an NA track rat and NC daily driver.

I think a tire change on the BRZ would even things up a bit in lap time, but it appears they are very close if different driving experiences. I like Randy's comments about each however. He's pretty descriptive.
Agreed, the stock tires on the BRZ were terrible. Yeah, he made me want the ND (along with the sound, holy s&%*, it sounds great) it's just the roll bar thing that kills me.
Finally saw a new one in the flesh today, it looks even better in real life than I thought it would. I'm really a fan of the new styling.
Thanks to its weight reduction, the ND was a little quicker than I expected in a straight line. I don't get what the big deal is about a little bit of body roll though. Glad to see the ND living up to the hype.
The body roll is more of a big deal from the sidelines than from the driver's seat. And the stock tires on the ND are nothing to get excited about. They're just surprisingly quick cars out of the box.
As for sound, they must have had the mic in the air intake or something, it's pretty soft spoken in reality.

Anyone else think it sounds just like the original?
In reply to racerdave600: Yes, Randy is excellent in his reviewing. But the point is to compare each car factory stock, and tires can/do have a big effect on which one is superior.
I'm a little disappointed that the Club has that much body roll. I did mention that the sport suspension should be a little firm when they first revealed it. However, they likely did it so the masses would not complain that it's too stiff.
Edit: Is anyone else bummed out that Carlos isn't with MotorTrend anymore?
I suspect they will end up in the same street class, I haven't looked, where I suspect the new Miata may have the advantage. On a road course the BRZ could use its stability as an advantage, with proper tires of course, but on an autocross course I fear the Miata's ability to turn in and rotate will relegate it to second tier.

I had a 1.6 with an intake and full exhaust (ebay header, all Racing Beat after that with no cat/resonator) it sounded nothing like that.
Keith, that's disappointing, it sounded really great in the video.

And it's superior power band, the BRZ is essentially dead below 4500rpm, even with E85 and a tune. I mean you can keep up with traffic no problem, but trying to be rapid, you really have to keep the engine on the boil.
And apparently upping the rev limit is a bad idea because of the rockers.
I was pretty impressed with the straight line speed of the miata. Looks wise I much prefer the miata over the Frisbee. Impressive powerband in the Mazda engine as well. Gimme!
The more I read about the ND Miata the more I want one.
I'm surprised there was no comment on the struts vs double a-arm suspension. Body roll is much less of a problem when you're not losing camber as quickly.

Mine was stock, which is what I'm using as a point of reference.
