there was a pretty good band in Oz that used the name Captain Spaulding, they were damned good in the bar I was the head of security back in the day

The band was around in the late 80's, certainly prior to Rob Zombies version.

Captain Spaulding is Groucho Marx' character in "Animal Crackers."

Just so you know.

In the Rob Zombie movies most of the characters are name after Groucho Maex characters.
