Just purchased two more for ME. I found a Pagani Huayra and a Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and then it hit me. I am in my 50th year of life and I am still buying Hot Wheels for ME!!!!! LOL Yes I have a 9 year old son that also likes them. Yes I could lie to my self (and others) that they are for him but I then realized that was all BS these were for me!!!. I will always be a kid I guess.
Hot Wheels For ever!!!!!!!

Cleaned out my storage unit a couple of months ago and found a bunch, I've stashed them in my upright toolbox so my grandson doesn't find them.
I damn near bought a matchbox-size B-engineering Edonis (rebodied EB110) when I was 20-something...
I buy them for the kids to play with but I definitely pick out cars I personally like.
Still buy them for myself also.

I'm 46 and I have always loved Hot Wheels cars. My two sons never had much of an interest but my three year old grandson loves them. I still have some from when I was a kid, some from when my boys were young and I still buy a new one if I find something interesting. I'm currently looking for a way to display them, garage them if you will because all of my cars are drivers. I let my grandson "drive" whatever he wants as long as he puts them away when he is done. A great way to teach him how to take care of things.

This is me. When my kids outgrow them I'll probably still stop by the Hotwheels section every week when I shop, but I'll just toss them in a box for Toys For Tots. I love buying little tiny versions of cars I like.
Yup, nothing wrong with that. Call it an inexpensive way to bring in some joy.
I stopped buying them because I have more than I have space for...
M3, STi, many 911's, the 8c, an s2000.... Atleast at a buck each its a cheap addiction

I was in Walmart last week and picked up a couple: a new BMW 1M and a BRG Caterham 7. I have a half-dozen or so 1:18 cars as well. I'm 44 with no kids.

I know what's in that thread, which I why I stay away.
I see them at the store (the end cap of the grocery store. Really?) and get tempted by the suprises that I see. Not going to spend the money, have enough things to dust already.
I buy my daughter some of the cars that I like. One of the ones I bought her is a 2010 STi. She also inherited around 25 from me and my younger brother from when we were kids. Sometimes, I play with them with her.

Wait....WHAT?
Matchbox, not hot wheels. Hot wheels only had the CTS-V. Matchbox had the wagon.

I brought in a bin of the ones I had in the garage, along with 7-8 of the Mustang/Cobra models still in plastic for my son last Saturday. I'm guessing that they have been in storage for 15-16 years. He has them on his shelves now. That is one good thing about letting him play GTA, he has a new found interest in cars.
Whenever I run to Target or Wally World I make my 12 year old daughter swing by the Hot Wheel and bicycle aisle to see what's new. I spent a lot of my earlier years swinging by the car models when I was dragged by the parents to the store. You should have seen hot excited I was to find the Datsun 510 wagon a month ago.
My dad and I would stop at Woolworths and other stores the day after Christmas to look at what train stuff was on clearance. Must be in our blood.
I still pick these up too... I need to stop.
