We are planning on making the LeMons race in Louisiana in May. We'll be splitting the cost of consumables (tires, brakes, fluids...motors :) ), just curious how other teams split the cost of other stuff (harnesses, seat, cage etc).
I don't own the car, just wondering what would be a fair amount to contribute.
We split it all. The car, the safety gear, the consumables, and the entry fees.
We did a general budget estimate minus personal safety equipment then split it 6 ways. I'm picking up some extras on the car itself but mostly because I have post Lemons plans for it.
We didnt adjust our estimates after we got our free entry so we should have a bit extra for food, booze etc...we'll actually roll it over into travel expenses to get to GRM
Toyman's a bit off: we split the cost of the car equally including consumables, entry, belts etc but each driver supplies their own personal safety gear.
He didn't ask about personal safety gear, just the car safety stuff. (cage, seat, belts...)
I don't want to split my personal stuff with you...Eewwww. Not to mention it would fit you like a tent.

Reading this and looking at your Avatars it is killing me.. . . . ROFL funny!!!!!!
We shared three firesuits, two helmets, two sets of gloves and three pairs of shoes. We split the cost of everything evenly, down to those items.
we estimate total costs and split everything car- and race-related (including gas for the tow vehicle). everyone supplies their own driver safety gear.
