Bought an '04 Saab 9-5 recently -- screamin' deal -- and put some effort into getting it reliable. Couple weeks ago, the NLA (of course) one-year-only Bosch ABS module took a E36 M3. The car runs/drives, but has no speedometer, ABS, cruise control, traction control, or stability control. The module is NOT repairable, per several Saab techs (for other years, it can be fixed).
I pinged a number of recyclers via car-part.com -- crickets -- a big Saab-specific recycler on the East Coast has none, and nothing on eBay.
What's your strategy for tracking down rare parts? I used to rely on the pick-n-pull, but these cars haven't been showing up.
Ebay, Amazon, Rock, car-part.com
The yards pay to put stuff up on car-part so the tiny stuff doesn't get listed. Find a yard that has the right car then call them and see if they still have the whole car...get a price on a small item.
On car-part I would search for an ABS pump and then call that yard and see if the whole car is there.

Facebook? There has to be some Saab specific groups active.
Marque specific forums. There has to be one out there dedicated to Saabs.
Find a Saab repair specialist in your area, and ask them for leads.

This plus is there an online forum? Also, I tend to see Saabs at out local yards and I'm out in the branches (not quite the sticks).

What state are you in? I have a buddy that deals in old Saab parts. Here in Minnesota.

There's a Saab specialist repair shop literally around the corner from me. I would imagine there are still many others across the country.
I found a Saab specialist hidden in Maugansville, Maryland taking a different way home from work recently. https://brewers-saab.com/ He has quite a few of them around the shop, I assume some are for parts at this point.

There is one at the local pick a part near me. How hard is it to pull the module?

I go to Row52, search for a car I want locally at a junkyard, and then go to it on the weekend while hoping for the best.
Took a peek just now for a 2004 9-5 and there's 10 in the country, with the nearest 'East coast' being in Auburndale, FL. There's another in Hammond, IN after that.

A friend of mine is parting the '04 9-5 Aero wagon that he bought from me. I can get you in touch with him if you'd like. I've never encountered a part that the Saab community couldn't source.
I had a Montesa Cota trials bike. I was buying parts off of eBay Spain.
I think your SAAB is now the source for any rare parts that may still be working on it.
It's reality. Embrace the loss and move on.
Like many I know little about ECUs or anything like a module governed by Angry Pixies but are ABS modules something that people rebuild for want of a better term?
Before I go.
this was a quick search I clicked on.
It actually mentions SAABs.
modulemaster.com
short expensive list with some Bosch.
In reply to Powar :
I sent you a message; lmk if you don't get it.
And thanks, all, for the suggestions!
I found this: 2004 saab 9-5 abs module on ebay, but I can't actually pull it up at work so may be bogus.
In reply to Saron81 :
My indy contacted Goldwing on my behalf -- they don't have one atm.
@Aaron_King -- that module is for a 9-3, not a 9-5, but thanks for checking
@nutherjrfan -- some years are rebuildable, but the '04 is not, unfortunately: check engine remains on and strange OBD codes are generated that are unrelated. Several techs said very clearly: doesn't work on an '04.
Probably try a saab specific forum or FB group. I don’t FB but there are groups for everything now. You can also travel to Sweden and befriend Sven the local Saab guru.
