Mine was eventful...
Had Australian F3 Champion and Asian Le Mans Series driver James Winslow come and race for us. Very quick guy! Race didn't turn out the way we would have liked. Got tapped from behind going into madness (Mid Ohio), got turned and t-boned. Chassis is a write-off, driver's compartment was impacted. He was upset, in second when it happened.
Our second team car also saw carnage, coming out the carousel, got wrapped up in someone else's spin, nose to nose impact.
To the high lights of my weekend:
Met the team manager for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Had a talk with him for about 20 minutes as he looked over our cars. Received a business card and instructed to email him today with my resume!
Also got a recommendation from Rick Beebe (former Nascar Truck series and Busch driver) for a job at Swan Racing in Nascar! (David Stremme's team).
James also said he would have a chat with the manager of his LMP2 team in Asia to see if he can get me on for the next race in Fuji in a month's time!
WHOA.
Dude, suckage for the race but badass for the contacts!
I saw the carnage in the paddock after the race. Sorry to see the bad luck, but I'll 2nd the great contacts!
Thanks guys.
Decided to take a break and have my sammich while putting a new corner on it to get it to roll
Were the Rims okay? Did they have to be...fixed?

One wheel is wasted, scrap now.
I lost my job, lost my girlfriend, and had to go to the emergency room.
Good times.

Curtis, with that kind of weekend at least you have a promising career in country music.
Seriously though, that sucks. Let us know if you need anything.
Paul - Fuji!? HELL YES.

That's a berkeleying country song if I ever heard one. (Darnit, Matt beat me to it!)
My weekend was great. Got some productive work done cleaning the garage, and tuned up the race car on Saturday.
Then went down to the regional auto-x championship on Sunday for a class win. The car and driver were working well together. One more 1st place and I should have the season points championship wrapped up. Taking the Street Modified Championship in a SOHC 240SX will be awesome.
My weekend was spent in San Diego on vacation with the wife and the in-laws.
I'm sun-burned, tired, sore, completely irritated and looking forward to being home again.
At least the Sea Panda show was cool. Though the Sea Panda mating in the underground tank afterward was awesome. Nothing like some Killer Whale Wang and entire families getting pictures with it to warm your heart. :)
Went to this.

Great show I would recommend it before it ends up in Vegas and costs 10x what they are charging now.
Dude I would be looking and the Kyle Bush thing!!!!
Mine was also eventful. I hit something with the family truckster (explorer) that ripped out the bottom of the radiator, AC condenser, power steering cooler, transmission cooler lines and some assorted plastic bits. I managed to get it all put back together by yesterday so the wife would have something to drive today.
600 miles in 2 days and I slept at home every night. MIS Friday, Woodward Ave. Friday Night. Mid-Ohio Saturday, Springport Motor Speedway Saturday night. Then another 80 miles yesterday just visiting friends.
Good luck, Curtis!
I drove a 1000# Suzuki Hayabusa powered car on Hoosier slicks around Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, Saturday (in the rain) and Sunday.
There's a reason why NASCAR doesn't race in the rain.
Also, CMS is different from Summit Point...

next up is drilling/tapping for thread inserts, installing said inserts, and then the long process of putting it all back together.
On Saturday, I drove about 70 miles in 9 hours. Didn't get the numbers for Sunday, but most of it was about the same. We were playing mountain goat in the San Juans. You'd be amazed at what a stock Grand Cherokee on highway tires can do if you just disconnect the sway bars. I know my German guests were
I couldn't convince my wife that we should do Black Bear Road, though.
Curtis, excellent weekend. Well, not the wreck. But the contacts.
Autocross Saturday morning at a paved oval.
Took my son and my dad to a local dirt oval saturday night. My son got to ride in a modified which made his night. My first time seeing winged sprint cars.....man those things are cool.
Saw Planes in 3d on Sunday. Meh.

did some work on Bobzilla's old vette...almost ready for a dyno session.
Buffed on the LTD
installed a wilwood master on the sprite.
Helped a buddy change the oil and trans fluid on his c5 which took entirely too long, when it really shouldn't have.
Drove back the 1000 or so miles from Michigan to Texas. Six people and one dog in a crew cab truck. By the second day my wife was starting back up on the "we need to buy a suburban" thing. I told her no suburban, only van. If it's a van, it should be a 4wd van. With a lift. I don't particularily want to spend the money on one, but I do want one. Maybe I should wait for the new Transit van?
Let's see worked a 12 on Sat... Sun was a lazy day. Made some brownies. Bed at 930-ish.

He's also married. That's what you get for being greedy
(I keed, in the sense that Curtis is a much more "open" kind of guy then most lol)
Worked a Street Survival Saturday. Worked on my air compressor Sunday.
I'll start another thread about Saturday.
The boss didn't think I was up to par for the shop. I thought I was doing great. Oh well. Their loss. Same goes for the girlfriend, but at least I think she's coming back.
Back to your regularly scheduled conversation. Didn't mean to threadjack
