I was missing my 95 850 T5-R that got totaled in January so I started shopping.

After an aborted attempt to look at a 98 V70 T5, I found a pretty good alternative.

I just put a tag on a 2002 WRX Sedan. Two owners; a grandfather and grandson. It only has 96000 miles and the normal dings and scrapes of a 10 year old daily driver...no rice or modifications. It does have a salvage title though.

It was rear ended at 1000 miles. It is a cut and paste car but totally straight and solid.

I picked it up cheaper than the Volvos I was looking at.

So, what do you think? Did I do the beater thing right or over-do it a little?

If it was a good deal, definitely not overdone. Should be a great beater.

If the winter beats the body, you could always turn it into the new Factory Five car...
