My wife and I went to a local autocross school today and had a good time! We learned a good bit and she really loved it!
We brought 2 cars- my lightly modded NA Miata and her stock 2016 Camaro SS.
The instructors were trying to get her to turn less in the Camaro. Apparently she was giving it quite a bit of steering input going around sharper corners. The instructor took her car for a spin and realized that he was also giving quite a bit of steering input... she enjoyed running the course, but was wanting to know what, if anything could be done to help her not use as much steering input?
She is planning on running F-Street this season, so the car has to essentially stay stock (essentially, the only suspension mod allowed is a single sway bar). Would a bigger bar help? More aggressive alignment? Stickier tires?
Thoughts?
If it’s anything like my 2016 V6, it definitely needs a bigger bar up front. Depending on your mileage, it might be time for new shocks as well.
What tires, and what psi were you running?
An "autocross alignment" will help...increase to a bit of static toe-out. It will make the car darty on the street at speed, however. Will likely chew up tires at an accelerated rate too. As mentioned a big FSB might be the "easy button"...see if the V8 cars offer that as an inexpensive off-the-shelf-solution.

The 1le LT1 cars have different bars than a normal ss, and I believe gm sells the 1le Sway as a package for pretty cheap.
Not sure about the ZL1 1LEs

Goodyear Eagle F1. 245/40R20 front, 275/35R20 rear.
Front pressure is 35psi, rear is at 38psi (both cold).
I'd definitely try some toe out. Learn how to do a string box alignment and it's a good tuning parameter that costs nothing.
Try adding a little bit at a time and find what works best for you as a balance between street and auto x performance. As said above, toe out will make the car more darty on the street at speed, but it was a real "Aha!" moment for me when I first tried racing on a more aggressive alignment.

I would go with higher pressures. I’m running 34-35 on the street. With the short nature of autocross, starting at 38 would be better. And some better tires will transform the car as well.
