I used to draw the exact same thing in study hall, then erase half the wings because it just looked like overkill.
Still, if the tunnel says it works, I can't argue with physics. I wonder how tolerant it is to damage? Are they so interdependent on airflow that if you lose one element the whole package goes to hell? Or does it take a beating and keep working? Because it WILL take a beating.

Yeah I guess that IndyCar safety officials aren't as worried about cornering speeds as the F1 guys...whatever happens will be interesting one way or another!
