Someone on here had mentioned that there was a new EFI carb replacement system coming out next month was ~800-900ish without the fuel pumps. The current stuff is 2400-2500 with pumps.

People keep asking for EFI on cars that I sell but balk at the 3.5K with installation. If I can do it for say 1500 with pumps I can move more cars.
Really hoping the reviews are good on this one. Looks like it fits most of the carb spread patterns and if it is as cheap as they say it is and reliable like the older versions then they have a serious winner on there hands.
Especially if I can do a external fuel pump instead of a in-tank pump as that makes the install cake. I will end up buying 2 or 3 master kits of these a year at this price point.
Problem is it will never perform better than a properly tuned carb.

I understand where your coming from with that comment, but this thing says it can run ignition too, and shouldn't it be able to compensate for altitude, engine and air temperature changes better than a carburetor?
I could care less about peak power or spending the time with perfect tuning on a carb. What I need is livability and off idle performance with the ability to run on crappy California gas and climb hills without floats being a issue. Plus good cruising MPG. Finding good period correct, or even non worn out, carb's is getting harder and harder and the 1406 only goes so far on lower power motors.
By the time I go through a carb correctly or buy a new one, get the tuning done this may actually be a bit cheaper and make the cars easier to sell to people who have no idea about actually maintaining a classic car. Which at the price point I sell at is becoming increasingly common.
IE they have no idea how to clear a flooded car or even do simple things like point adjustment.
