Bigger is NEVER better. Unless it is camshafts.
Says the guy with a bridgeport avatar.
I've had stock ports, I've had street ports, and I've had street ports so large that the corner seals barely stayed in and I had to make landing zones for the side seals.
Bridge port is better. Way better
Around here a new focus St is nearly $40k, with the Fist at 24500. I didn't bother driving the Fost at that price, but LOVE the Fist. Very toss able, geared nicely on the highway. It looks huge next to the 964 - the Fist is small, but not THAT small. We've had 3 kids and two adults comfortably in ours. That said, if the price difference was only 2k I'd have spent more time looking at the Fost.
FWIW, I regularly get 400-430 miles to a tank.
I've driven both and will pretty much echo what others have said. The Fiesta is the most fun to drive, but the Focus is a better highway car. If I was going to drive on the highway 100 miles a day, the Focus would be my choice.
I have the FoST. It's a good car, very fun to drive. That being said I sort of wish I would have went with the fiesta. It seems to be the general consensus amongst the racing minded that the Fiesta is the better car due to weight and being more nimble. Seems like lighter and less power would also reduce the use of consumables like brakes and tires.
I looked at a Fiesta ST by me the other day on a used lot, 15k on the ODO and $15,000 on the window. It made me really consider trading my focus in for it. The lower payment would increase my smiles per dollar as well!

The FiST brakes are pretty small. HPDE-minded folks are burning the pretty red paint off the calipers and eating pads regularly.

And I would wear my burnt caliper paint as a badge of honor
No track or autox for me, so I'm not worried about burnt caliper paint...though Atlanta rush hour can heat up your brakes in a hurry...
So I don't know a ton about turbo DI. To add just a little more power, is it just as easy as a computer reflash (once the warranty is up of course)? Or do I need to add intake, exhaust, etc...too? How much power does a reflash add to the FiST or FoST? What does it cost?
In reply to Klayfish:
Ford Racing should offer a reflash for oodles more torque......and retain the factory warranty.
