Thanks for the tips on track etc.
So, it's looking good for us to make it to ELKT this Sunday for a shake down. Looking forward to meeting Chapperal as well.

Sounds like a plan! I think I'll have a couple of friends with me, bringing the X30, direct drive, or shifter.
Bring tools. Kevin sells those engines and all of the parts. He can tell you what size slide a Junior Sportsman 206 needs.
If you fire up the engine, make sure to run the carburetor dry before the end of the day. This is most easily accomplished by taking the pressure line off the pump and having it drain to a cup or bottle, which you then pour back into the gas tank.
Anybody know a dirt kart series or org in AZ?
I understand that the Razor based class is gaining popularity for kids. Ie, Mini Mints. Those rigs still cost $6000+ or more.
I like the idea of dirt kart I can share with my daughter. Any ability for adults and kids to drive the same cart?
I'll be there when the track opens at 10 and will probably finish running 15 minutes before the rain gets there to get my kart tarped up and packed up.

Ahh. With the rain forecast we skipped. But we're not quite ready. I'll post tomorrow but we 3/4 there on moving the seat but need to make one more bracket and get some new nuts bolts. We did the alignment and set front and rear track yesterday. Decided on gearing but found we need some new fasteners for that too. New brake pedals work a treat. Should be all set for next weekend.
Darn. You missed out on watching me slide a 50 horsepower kart around a freezing-cold track for over a hundred laps. Turns out that if it's so cold that you're spending most time below 10k RPM a 175cc shifter kart will get 30 mpg on track, so my not mixing enough gas for the whole day was fine. I'll be out later if there's anothe rgood day.
Next year I'm getting a new trailer and a new ribvest!
In reply to Adrian_Thompson (Forum Supporter) :
If you're going to the track tomorrow, I'll see if I can borrow a trailer or truck to hed out there as well.
I've started another thread on my exploits with my grandson and one of his other grandparents here so I don't clutter up this thread.
You'll need to log in to post.
