What the deuce???
Where does one go about procuring a Koenigsegg motor??? They don't exactly pop up on craigslist...
Two tickets to Awesome World, for sure.
What is that engine? I don't think I've ever heard of it. Full race motor, or pulled from an exotic?

That's what I was thinking. Does the Koenigsegg use a DOHC Ford 4.6L or 5.4L?
Wiki said: Engine While previous Koenigsegg models were powered by an engined based on the Ford Modular V8 engine sourced from the U.S., and modified by Koenigsegg, the engine of the CCX was designed by Koenigsegg themselves and is built ground up in the Koenigsegg factory.
On Wikipedia so it must be true!

So I'd say the engine in the original link may be a "Koenigsegg" engine but it isn't a CCX engine - and is definitely at 4.6L DOHC Ford engine (they didn't even bother to take the Cobra off the intake plenum).
Like stated above, that is a Ford DOHC 4.6 Cobra engine in the pics. More specifically, it appears to be a 1998 version which was rated at 305hp. On top of that, the IRS pictured may be from a 2004 Cobra, but there were no 2004 Cobra Rs made (unless that is what they call them in the EU). The last R was built in 2000.
I hope that guy didn't get raped assuming he was buying something special. That engine and that IRS are a dime a dozen on this side of the Atlantic pond.
In the thread he says it's putting out 170bhp at idle and 290 at 2000rpm, so whatever it is it's far from a stock Cobra engine.
"well considering he is calling that the dummy engine and he wrote this I think your all jumping to conclusions. Well until the car is done. "
I don't think he'd fab up headers and carbon fiber cam covers for a mock up engine unless it's the same engine architecture he's going to ultimately use.

I believe they were essentially 'upmarket' Ford Cortina's. My Dad owned a couple of them when he lived in Scotland.
Lots of engine choices, but nothing as exciting as the Cosworth in this one, (although the Mk3 came with Cossie power.) I think the Mk2 range topped out with a 2.8 V6.

No, it wasn't an up market Cortina, it was a larger more expensive car. The Granada was the biggest car in the Ford of Eu line up. The Cortina was replaced by the Sierra (XR4ti here) and the Granada was replaced by the Scorpio.
that build makes my pants talk
4cylndrfurys pants say: yay
