Quick question - I've just stuffed a 14# DEKA sealed AGM battery into the race car. I've mounted it on it's side to lower the COG and make fitting the terminals easier (see poor quality pic below).

Any danger of leakage / failure by doing this? So far it's working great. And yea, I've cleaned up the wiring since then

not sure who's AGM battery that is.. but the Odyessy in my BMW can be mounted upside down if need be. the PC 625 currently in the car is mounted just like your's is and shows no signs of leakage

I've seen AGM batteries mounted on their side straight from the factory in industrial vehicles. I think you'll be fine.

Have the exact one (Odyssey PC625) in the rear of the XR4 mounted as described by you and the OP, no problems and it is allowed to be mounted however you want...

Only AMG battery that has restrictions I know of are Diehard Platinums and they only say no upside down mounting.
