I am looking to explore something besides what I have currently for rear suspension.

So, my main question is the angle on the bars more important vs length vs attachment height? More information: The mounting for the bellcrank has to be offset, which may make it really on center depending on the rear axle placement.

The pivot point of the bellcrank determines the rear roll center so it should be on the vehicle center line and you may want to make it adjustable for height. As far as the bars, the important point is to have them equal length and at equal but opposite angles as they are mounted to the axle. The mounting points should be symetrical down the centerline of the car. If you cannot center the bellcrank and make the mounts equal I would not use a Watts link.

Well, I am working on a Chrysler, which they just LOVE to be "different".

This is what I am looking at, as factory produced:

1) Although most Watt's links are symmetrical, they don't have to be. Take a look at the PT Cruiser rear as an example. It's important that the ratio of bellcrank center to end vs link length is tthe same on each side. (they must form similar triangles, for you geometry freaks).
2) Although the bellcrank is usually mounted on the axle, it doesn't have to be.
You can mount the 'crank on the chassis, and run the links to the outer ends of the axle.
(In that configuration, the roll center does not move with the axle)
3) The 'crank does not have to be mounted vertically, you can lay it down horizontally (or at any angle if you must), and it works the same in the transverse plane.

The combination of 1, 2, 3 above allows you lots of freedom to find a way to fit a Watt's link.

Mazda also used an unequal length on the watts link for the 78-85 RX-7's Not the best way to do it, but it does work. Most guys that seriously race that generation of RX-7 usually switch to a panhard bar though, for what that is worth.
