Now that the awards banquet is over, it's time to keep lightening the del sol that's been slowly dissected over the past few days. Dry ice is today's tool.

My official runs are done for the week, but I'm back at the event this morning for something new: Free Club Spec test drives! Entrants volunteered their cars to let anybody in attendance try them out.
Just tried a Miata, and wow--these cars are sweet! Great suspension, sticky tires, and guaranteed class parity seems like a recipe for success.

Is it safe to assume the Miata is faster around the cones and the Mustang is faster on track or is that still TBD?
Initially I saw complaints that the Miata suspension would need to be rebuilt every few hundred miles which would defeat the streetability of the package. Was that resolved and/or fake news?

Did you tell them the dry ice hack is fake news? Where's a good horse jizz thermos when you need one?
Wow the top 10(!!!!) cars in CAM-S are all C5s after today's runs. The Cobra in 11th has a slim chance of breaking into the trophies (top 7) with a heroic Friday, but it looks like this is going to be a C5 trophy lockout.
Super Street Touring is a fairly new offering to SCCA’s Street Touring menu. Donour Sizemore took the class win in a Lotus Evora.

The rest of the field featured a mix of Caymans, Corvettes, Boxsters and, finishing ninth in a Supra, Ryan Tolleson.

How about some C Mod action?

Someone here was asking about GR Corollas, right? Here’s a shot of XA driver Drew Hackett–14th in class.

Now I'm curious what he's done to be in XA. Guessing at least springs/coil overs, CAI. Have to see if he's on the forum. (Thanks!)
And just like that, my trip to Nationals is over. I'll write more about the experience once I'm home, but wow was that a great time. Already plotting next year....
And a 6sp Supra takes day 1 in BS. The trophies in this highly diverse class are being held by auto and manual Supras, A GR Corolla, FL5 Type Rs, base C6 Corvettes and a BMW M2Comp. Wacky lineup.
Oh, I did make one last stop on my way out of the site: I had to visit the door I cut up last night! The team said they knocked down the sharp edges with a flap wheel, but in daylight I'd say my work holds up.
Damn, that RX8 also has some YUGE rubber.
That GR Corolla looks really good too. Amazing what fat rubber does for the looks of a car.
Good morning. We have some photos from Rupert from Thursday.
First up, Nicole Wong, currently leading SSPL.
