My back hurts now .

The Element is pretty impressive as a transformer car inside though. I think someone made/makes a pop-up conversion for it.

I think I'll stick with my truck. A good air bed looks way more comfortable.

So being a long time multiple Element owner I have to bring to many people's attention that a Honda Element is shorter than a Honda Civic.

Really.

2008 Civic sedan is 176.7 inches compared to a 2008 Honda Element 169.3 inches. That's more than 7" difference, so being able to park just about anywhere and still sleep in it can be a major advantage in any type of built up urban area.

It helps if you never bath, cook or poop.

If you're going to live in a vehicle, the pinnacle of comfort (and impeccable good taste) was achieved in the 1970's with the customized van, complete with groovy shag carpeting.

I might have done that in my 20s. Now, I can barely stand an 8 hour trip in an Element. And it's the most comfortable vehicle I own.

Not much different than the camping set-up I built for my Grand Caravan. For a day or two it's tolerable, but for a trip across the country? Well... he's young...

Airbeds can get mighty cold.

In reply to Woody:

What I used for the GC camper is a full-size memory foam mattress topper, cut in half and stacked. It is amazingly comfortable. I built a basic platform from plywood and 2x3's so that my cooler and storage bins go underneath. The big issue the roof line is so low I can't sit on the bed without being hunched over. Cooking is done under my EZ-up next to the van. It's all similar to the set-up I used in my old conversion van when I was racing 15 years ago, but not as roomy (and with 50% better MPG).

I haven't quite sorted out the pooping and showering problems yet.

Pooping is easy, there are poop rooms everywhere. And they have much better privacy and sanitation than anything you can manage in an Element. Although a chemical toilet and a pop up shower does the trick for camping in the woods.

Showering is more difficult, but truck stops can provide if you're on the slab.

In a second video I watched from this guy he talked of Gym membership for shower while staying longer term in New Orleans
