I would like to find a Locost nose cone that will fit a McSorley 442 frame.

1: Does anyone have one damaged, used or sitting on the shelf for cheap?

2: What supplier has a decent one for reasonably low cost?

Asking for a fiend.

Jack at Kinetic is a good guy.

I got mine from Curtis Unlimited in Kneelands, CA. It's more Series 2 shape than Caterham, but can be had in stock height or 1.5" taller (which is mine, and is ~about~ Caterham height).

A 442 is a big frame, you'll need a nose specifically for it. Jack's your best bet.

I just got rid of a "book" size nose myself!

Well from the sound of it the fiend has started a project that is a little bit bonkers. Not in a good way. The car is really a modified 442 carrying a complete Miata rear suspension with diff locator (as in frame stub, crossmember and complete suspension with springs) and now he is toying with the same idea for the front. His issue was a proper sized nose cone but I think there's more therapy needed!

I'm going over to snap pictures soon.

The Locost nose is much narrower with longer control arms than a Miata. The rear subframe has been reused before, when you try to reuse the front you end up with something that looks more like an Exocet than a Locost. You definitely need to share pics.

Did you ever snap any pics to share?  I am contemplating something similar and would like to see what someone else has done.

And lest anyone comments, Yes, I am trying to resuscitate this old thread.

No, Ben, no.  John never finishes anything.  I ended up with the frame because John needed some sbc stuff and i felt bad for him, and now AxeHealey has it.
