That pretty much sums up my situation as well. I'm sure that 1800S would pull on me hard with its rusty puppy-dog eyes. I want a rusty coupe someday for a dream folding hardtop conversion, but not today.
The comments section of thisBarn Finds posting seem to think the auctioneer will drive the prices high.
I hope some of the great stuff overshadows the dull stuff and that buyers blow their financial wad on some of the notable stuff. But, we know that auctions can cause irrational spending.
I still question if they will really get through it all in 2 days. I bet day 2 has a much lower turnout and maybe then the dull like a mid '90 fwd Caddy Seville will go cheap.
That autction looks really cool. Can you go around and look at the cars before it actually starts?

All day Friday seems to be "inspection day" and even an evening social with the seller.
I've been to a couple of Vanderbrinks auctions before, stuff goes for what it's worth. She was the auctioneer for the guy with all the ten mile chevys a couple years ago. We went to a junkyard cleanout in South Dakota of hers (awesome) and a tow lot emptying in Iowa (awesome). People come out of the woodwork because she usually gets the info out very well.
I was down near this yesterday and snapped this picture of the AMC in the seller's driveway.
I couldn't get good pictures but there a number of cars behind the house. Most notable catching my attention was an Opel GT, a Mitsu 300 or Stealth and some long '80 Benz sedans.
There is also a plain Jane one of these at the old store parking lot where the collection is kept.
Not so sure it is collectable but I can't tell you the last time I saw one on the road.
