I watched the new episode of Top Gear last night, this was the feature car review. Marcos T50 GT! Looks like a TVR, is faster than a Viper, and is a wet dream with wheels.
Me likie!

Well I DVR'd the episode from Monday, and yes this car did break down alot during the filming of the review...
It's amazing that a country with so many speed cameras and so much traffic congestion, is able to produce so many terrific cars.
Looks sort of like a cross between an A-M and a Daytona Cobra.
It is the bastardized BBC America showing. That episode is from last year, but newly edited for the American market.

ah... that would explain it then
What motor is in this thing? I watched it, too, but didn't catch that bit. Before you tell me I'm gonna guess "Corvette".

Compared to most other Western European countries, it's quite easy here to register home-built and low volume cars for road use. Plus there's a culture of men (it's almost always men) in sheds building strange things that shouldn't necessarily see the light of day. Like this Rover with a 27l engine:

Mind you, a lot of the roads over here make a Range Rover look like a good idea for a DD so I'm constantly amazed by how many people (me included) put up with sporty cars.

It actually does look like a Marcos to me . Marcos have been around for a long time but never built that many cars. Their original claim to fame was that the chassis of the early ones was made from plywood (no, I'm not kidding - one of the two guys who founded Marcos had worked on the Mosquito bomber which was also completely built from plywood). A couple of photos of older Marcii can be found here:

Plus there is the Mini Marcos:

Yes, they're fugly. They're also pretty darn quick for something that's a bunch of Mini subframes bolted to a fibreglass shell.

Pah, no way. I'm an ex-Pat Brit and I can tell you that British roads are positively billiard table smooth in comparison to South East Michigan.
