Sorry I've been laid out with a berkeleyed up hand, did you ever hear from mo?

I never heard back from Mo, so I bought a vinyl cutter and let my creative side roam free. Extended Lateral Motorsports has a logo. So far everyone who has seen it has agreed that the version with the derrick is better.

I like the derrick one better also, though maybe keep the top of the derrick even with the E and M?

Finally got the nuts and bolts to finish the fire extinguisher mount. It clamps to the seat rail. I was going to pull it back out and paint it but after One Lap it's coming out and the extinguisher and Drake mount are going in the Civic.
My co-driver and his wife came over for dinner and brought luggage for a test fit. Unsurprisingly we will have plenty of room. This whole completely stock year old car thing doesn't leave me with much to do to get ready.

I hope those 'stones hold up. On the BRZ forums there is chatter of high wear rates even in just Auto-X use.

Either way, I'll be at Hallett when you guys roll through, so I'll see if I can find you guys and come say hi.

I'm excited to watch you guys slide that big thing through "The Bitch"

With the RS3's I would get approximately equal wear between one track weekend with 8 20 minute sessions and a single day of autocross with two drivers doing 12 60 second runs. I'm pretty gentle on track and we've agreed that this is going to be an 80% week.
We're absolutely going to have to watch the tires, but I think we'll make it back to South Bend.

As long as your camber settings are within reason, you drive within the limits of the tires, avoid burnouts and you don't experience any long lurid spins, your tires will last the week just fine. In fact, many cars get a second year on the same tires. A bigger issue tends to be brake wear as folks can be a little overzealous on an unfamiliar track.

I have brand new pads and I'm bringing the 65% set that I just took off. Completely flushed the brakes a week ago and I have a fresh container of fluid and the bits and pieces to do another bleed if necessary.
Thanks for the advice Brock, can't wait to say Hi next week.

Start with a $2.89 pillow.
Cut in half. A little extra stuffing to firm it up. Sew.
Custom half size car pillow for One Lap. Very important for lots of car sleeping. When you're driving a completely stock car there's not much to do. I'm getting antsy.

Are you prepped for rain during track events? Wouldn't want your custom pillow to get soggy

I like what you've done. I am however disappointed my contact didn't pan out, and that I was unable to hold up to my end of it. Stupid work, stupid hand. I should just buy my own cutter.

My co-driver wife is in the oil service industry and has a HUGE waterproof offshore bag. That and a Rubbermaid bin for tools/fluids will take care of 90% of our stuff. The rest will be in a smaller waterproof bag. Two bags, one bin, the jack, and the spare.

In reply to mndsm:

It's fine. I have ideas that I want to translate to vinyl that I'm better off doing myself. This was just the kick I needed to do it. The only thing I won't have that I wanted is a big Grocery Life sticker. I have a small one, and that will have to do. Mo did the initial work and I feel like digitizing his version to make my own is a bit unfair.

I thought you had somebody else co - driving this event with you. Your wife is now your co-driver? That is AWESOME!

Mrs. Deuce does want to co-drive with me at some point after the deucelings are gone from the house. Maybe One Lap 2027?

Started putting vinyl on. I want a red arrow like my avatar so I cut one. It went on badly, so it came off. Then I put the red vinyl in the cutter crooked and wrecked the rest of my red. So I cut a white one and ruined that one too. Then I did some reading and got out a spray bottle and did the water thing and almost got it acceptable. Almost. I'll order more red and maybe I can get a red arrow on properly. Cutting is the easy part.

Also trying to figure out if I have enough underwear to go 10 days. I haven't gone that long without doing laundry since I had kids.

I carry three when travel/camping regardless of duration. Wear one, wash one in the sink, and a spare in case one isn't dry yet or something awful happens because of "road diet".

Even if I didn't know what you were driving, I'd know it was a newer car from the fact that you only packed one hammer.

FWIW, I'm not a fan of how the arrow interacts with the features of the hood.

I should throw in a roll of duct tape. Honestly I'm hoping to not need a single tool other than what's necessary to rotate wheels.

I was thinking I could go back to my climbing trip days with two pairs of running shorts for any trip. Wear one air one. Infinity days.
