Anyone planning to go to this? Just got the email reminder.
Hallett is such a fun track. A lot of people dismiss it because it's almost Nowhere, Oklahoma, but it's in my top three tracks that I've driven, Watkins Glen being number one and VIR barely edging out Hallett.. Hopefully, you're running the counter-clockwise direction. Running up over the crest, with the car getting light, as you try to decide when to get on the brakes for the right handed below. Too early, and you lock up. Too late, and you don't make the corner.

I think the publisher of this magazine has also pointed it out as one of his favorites.
Running "backwards" is great fun. Can't even see your turn in point for "The Bitch" until you're already on the brakes. And this is what happens when you miss said braking point. Big scrape on the FM frame rail, but otherwise no issue. I just kept my foot in it and drove back over the curb and on the track, only dropped the right rear.
I also LOVE Hallet. Especially in underpowered/underweight cars it is just a blast to drive. Cant beat the crews that work there as they are all down to earth good people. Cant wait to go back hopefully next year.

I've done the HST in both direction in my '98 Avenger. FWD and not real fast but I had a blast. I want to go back and do the school. Connie has retired but everyone I met there was really friendly and fun to talk to.

My cousin. Just talked to her last night. Scott and Jennifer have been doing a good job with the place since she retired.

I went over there several times through the years to watch before I took my car. She was always friendly and answered any questions. When I did take my car , she quizzed me about the car and why I used the number I did. Said she liked to know the backstory on the numbers people used. I volunteered for the Champcar race there this year. The place looks great and I like the tunnel.

I'm pumped that Scott finally got the tunnel put in. Infield access being blocked when the track was hot has always been problematic. It's my home track so I take it a little for granted but I always have a good time.
