My 1999 BMW Z3 Coupe in fair condition (Needs paint work, interior work, and some other maintenance work) is near Challenge money. I'm sure I could see off some things and make it work below $2015. Would this legal?
Coupe? Wow! Sweet. But yes, quite rare. Grab a quick search of ended ebay auctions maybe?
Or, if you were to list your car for sale today, would you let it go for blue book?
I mean, i dont personally care if you are able to have fun with a car you already have at a GRM event, but if you wouldn't sell it for challenge money, it's disingenuous to try to pass it off as a challenge-priced car.
As already stated, in this case KBB is COMPLETELY full of E36 M3.
I am deciding if I keep it or sell it. I checked KBB as part of the exercise to determine how much it's worth. I have never seen a Coupe with the laundry list of issues for sale. Heater core, bad clear coat, non-working sunroof, non-working DS power window, Air /Oil separator system, secondary air pump system to name a few. No body to blame but me for the condition. Just working ourselves out of 3 years of just minimal maintenance (oil changes and brakes) due to life happening. Nothing crazy for a 225,000 mile car that I love. But I have to decide how much could I sell it for in it's current state or if I put the time and money into it to at least make it sell able. I was taken back a bit when I saw the $2,390 number and then I said ???
If you sold it to me for $2015 it would be.
There's a very nice non-M coupe down here in Daytona at a local specialty shop for $10,000 IIRC.
In reply to Greg Voth:
Very nice is the key word. There is a highly modified (vortech superchrger installed car pushes around 350hp) in Palm Coast for $18,500. Price has dropped from $20,000.
In reply to bgkast:
I will keep it in mind (Did I also mention the cracked dash and bad seats?)
Yeah, the supercharged one has a rebuilt title which hurts it.
I'm also somewhat interested if your selling. I've always loved those cars.

It is for most cars like this. Try looking up some rare asian cars that you know go for like $10,000. In KBB it will say like $1800
