The Nankang Sportnex CR-S, currently one of the top players in the 200tw game, is now available through the Tire Rack. This is the first time the giant retailer has offered the brand.
[Tested: How does the new Nankang Sportnex CR-S compare?]

At Tire Rack, we listen to our customers, and of course the enthusiast …

The pricing isn't like Phil's though. More than the RE71RS...

Are you looking at the clearance prices for the old version? The prices are the same as Phil's from what I can see. And doesn't Phil's charge for shipping too?
It does look like TR doesn't quite have the full range of sizes.

Was really hoping to see these available in 275/35-15... Still just the AR1 and Hoosiers.
In reply to dps214:
I stand corrected. Thank you for that. I now see that Phil's prices on V2 have changed since I last checked (a few weeks ago) and they're now the same. *Hat tip to you*

Oooh, that's awesome. I've been running the CR-S for the past three seasons and I love the tires, but I've had to buy them elsewhere, and I tend to have terrible luck with buying tires through distributors who aren't Tire Rack

All retail pricing for the new CRS is the same...and higher than the old CRS. Phil's, included. It was an across-the-board price increase when the revised tire came out.

I've seen a few promotional posts on those, and a couple of test videos, but are they even available in the US through any normal distribution? Their size is 285/30-15, BTW.
When we first tested the revised CR-S, Andy was like, These are a game changer.
Very cool to see Tire Rack add them to its catalog. That has to be a huge feather in the cap for Nankang.
Interesting. When I was last turning wrenches for a living in 2011, Nankangs felt like they were an in between of Lego tires and Hotwheels wheels. We had a Civic Si traded in that had some NKs on it, used car manager wanted it to be a CPO and for it to have new Michelins on it, so we threw them on an extra set of Si wheels at the shop and took them autoxing that weekend. They were terrible and felt like we were driving on ice. They were also some of the biggest PITA tires to mount and balance.
From what the hive is saying, sounds like a decade of development is doing them well.
Wonder how they would hold up in a 14 hour champcar race.

Have a set on my Omni as we speak. They are still sold directly and infrastructure is still being put in place. The 285/30R15 on a 15x10 is a hair shorter and wider than a Hoosier 275/35R15 on the same wheel as to be expected.

These are definitely a hassle to mount. I measured, just out of curiosity, and discovered that the bead is 3/4" thick. Lots of fighting and sweating and swearing and trying not to damage your wheels. But balance-wise, they've been terrific. Although the one that showed that it had -6lbs of Road Force left me scratching my head at what that meant.

Vitour P1 is not yet on sale in the US, though they will take your money on a pre-sale. I'm hearing Fall at the earliest.
We have been speaking with the US reps about getting some tires to test, but nothing has materialized yet. And we don't typically test prototypes for public consumption, which is what they have in the country right now...just two sizes.
285/30-15? Are they cheaper than Hoosiers? I know a Challenge car that could use a set of those.
what is the recommended tire for a 10" rim? I have a C6 corvette and the GYSC3's are out of stock in OE sizes
245/40r18 & 285/35r19 is the default sizes...
In reply to ClearWaterMS :
245/40R18 would be a pretty significant stretch on an 18x10, look into 275/35R18 for the front, are you running 19x10s on the rear?

The Corvette runs different sizes, the front is a 8.5" wheel and the rear is 10". The front 245/40R18 is readily available in lots of brands but the rear is not. The Goodyear SC3 tires is what I ran last year but this year nothing is in stock in the sizes I need.

Even that 285 is pretty wide for a 10...I wouldn't go any wider.
I run 255's and 265's on 10's on the 720, depending on tire model (some run wide). 285's go well on an 11.
Thanks, Andy, for all the tire advice.

Andy, thank you. the 285 is the factory tire size for the C6 corvette and I have been running the Goodyear SC3's in that size for 2 years but as they are on back order for what seems like forever and nobody else makes a 200tw that comes in the two sizes that are OE for the factory wheels for the Corvette what does everybody recommend? Bridgestone was making the RE71Rs but thsoe seem to be sold out on the rear now as well. :(
In reply to ClearWaterMS :
Sadly, I'm not seeing a lot of good options with those sizes ATM. Backorders suck.

We've had good luck running 245/275 on 8.5/10" wheels. Just bought a pair of 275/35/19 Re71RS, they're in stock. There's some reading between the lines required, but it looks like the real world tread width difference is much less than the nominal 10mm going from 285 SC3 to 275 RE71RS.
I feel your pain though, I'm planning on doing something different next year and that 285/35/19 seems like it would be almost perfect...but no expected production.
