Started working on my cheap hardtop (and yes I was aware of the damage, hence the cheap part). Ive gotten to the part with the worst of the damage and Im not really sure how to proceed having never done fiberglass/composite work before.

Here is the damage:

Im planning on using a bolt in kit rather than the stock latchs, so I plan on removing the frankenstein bolts if that helps.

That'll be a fun project :)

One note that is that a miata hardtop is smc, not fiberglass.. It requires a bit of a different resin/hardener mix, but the same workflow.

I've been (very slowly!) Repairing one using the west system described Here. It's really no different than the fiberglass repair I've done before.
