the car is a 2001, 100 k miles.  I have had it less than two months.  Was running great, no issues and I thought I had something wrong with the suspension.  Popped the hood and hello, here was the noise.   I don't have much info on the car.

What to do, and who rebuilds these things?

I believe you can DIY it. Otherwise, contact Eaton. They have said in the past that the Miata application has a fairly short lifespan - I remember it being about 100k miles.

It's the bearings.

I had a brand new supercharger installed by the Toyota dealer and it lasted about 60K miles. There are places that you can ship it to that will replace the bearings (I never checked to see how hard it is to do myself). Anyway, about 30K miles later it started doing it again. That ended my desire to have that type supercharger again.

In reply to Keith Tanner :

Thanks, I will give them a shout.  I had a website that rebuilt these specifically, but I didn't bookmark it.  Maybe  I should have and it would not have failed.

Do these not have a spring loaded drive coupler in the snout? That is a pretty easy DIY repair.

The Eaton supercharger on the Supercoupe would rattle when the drive coupler in the snout was worn out. They aren't hard to replace.
