After being canceled for 2020, the Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine returns for 2021, starting May 1 at Tire Rack headquarters in South Bend, Indiana.
The 2021 route will have participants compete in time trials, drag races and skidpad challenges at locations that require a bit of driving:

This is a bucket list item for me.
Any GRMers going to be at Nola?
Excited that it's starting, sad that I won't be there.
Nice Canoe Kasey009.
Looks like it might be heading past my town, maybe I'll stand on the side of the highway with a sign and wave.
I'm legit depressed that I'm not there. It, there's 0 zero chance for me to make it over.
Most of the coverage I expect will be on Facebook... including 'official livestreams'. I'll try to link up some of the pages later.
alright, so I expect officialish livestreams from Brian here:
https://www.facebook.com/OneLapOfAmerica/
also, I expect some updates from Scott & Becky of Robertson Racing:
https://www.facebook.com/RobertsonRacingMiata/
(they've also got an instagram, but not having an account, I can't link to it currently)
they've run a few times in the past with a stock-power NB. They k-swapped it, and have been racing in GLTC with GridLife; and got knocked into a wall at NCM two weeks ago. The car's "mostly" back together, and is working to make it to the start at SouthBend. They're a good story, but I'm biased since I've gotten to hang with them a bunch the last couple years.
Also, I'd be remiss for not linking up to GRM stalwart, Tom O'Gorman who's driving with Steve Loudin in a ZR1:
https://www.facebook.com/tomoracing94/
and Andy & Ann Hollis in their McLaren:
https://www.facebook.com/OneLapMcLaren
The "Wisconsin Contigent" is pretty strong again this year with Alex Moss & Andy Smedegard in a DCT'd K-swapped S2000 (that has been very competitive in Grid Life's 'Street Mod' class):
https://www.facebook.com/SuperKAdventures/
among others I'll try to dig up
I think the "official" hashtag is '#oloa2021'... so you can get an aggregate of updates on FB here:
https://www.facebook.com/hashtag/oloa2021
and a handful on twitter so far:
https://twitter.com/search?q=%23oloa2021
anybody got a similar page for Instagram?
edit:
I'll add more as they pop up
In reply to sleepyhead the buffalo :
Thanks for posting this!
Looks like Robert Thorne is going to try to "vlog it out" this year:
I'm gonna post these FB.live things, just as straight links... because reasons.
here's a "welcome video" from the official media team, with some background to how they're going to run the event:
https://www.facebook.com/255017751220514/videos/141981814606324
Great video from Robert. I hope he can keep posting video but that's a tall request. He and Chris are positioned as the #2 car. It will be a lot of work to take on the second job of posting while doing the number one job of staying at the pointy end of the field.
Here is a link to the entry list and there assigned number, space. The numbering is giving out by Brock. This is a combo of objective and subjective putting the fastest cars to the front. The #1 car is the previous years winner. The next number of cars are former winners or podium finishers. The cars start in this order. There is a lot of advantage to being in these early groups. That advantage being that once you have completed your turn on track you are free to advance to the next location. Cars with high numbers start last but still need to be at the track at 7am for track walking. Arrive at 7am only to the find out you don't run until 11am.
As the week continues, there will then be a leader board and the first cars off will be the leading cars. This means you can work yourself up in the starting field (as well as you can fall back in the starting field.) But starting at the top sure help to keep you better than middle for a lot of the week.
Our TrackWalking Podcast buddies, Scott & Becky are positioned as car number 64. As the week continues, it is fun to see if they bring themselves up higher than the 64th place they have been predicted.
Skidpad Results are up:
https://www.onelapofamerica.com/event/ResultsEventOverall.do?trackEventId=222&eventId=40
the cold and the puddles seemed to have lowered G's from years past around 0.5. top car was a modified E90M3 BMW was just shy of 0.8. Andy & Ann are 4th in the McLaren.
Autocross results are being uploaded:
https://www.onelapofamerica.com/event/ResultsEventOverall.do?trackEventId=223&eventId=40
by the time you read this, they'll probably all be posted. Tom "TOMO" O'Gorman took FTD. The turbo, K-swapped, DCT'd TimeAttack S2000 was second. Third was the team "we're just here for the autocross". The Ogburn's were fourth, and a Tesla Model3 5th. Robert Thorne came in 7th and Andy Hollis came in 8th. The low time for Tom & Steve helped vault them into the lead over the E90M3, that while tied on points, the lead goes to the car with the lowest cumulative time.
Scott & Becky managed 22nd, and clawed back valuable in-class points with a second-in-class showing for that event. In a lot of ways, that's a phenomenal result for them, since (afaik), OneLap is the only time Scott autocrosses! The battle, so far, in 'Sports GT-2 Small Bore' (i.e. the land of miatas, s2000's, GTI's and GT86's) is a tight one from 3rd through 7th being spread 10 points... and only 20 between 3rd and 2nd.

The skidpad AX on the same day always makes the results look weird. Some bigger circles tomorrow and the drags. Four different disciplines in the first two days.
Yes, I'm going to hammer this thread with all the contents. The Slip Angle Podcast has a pre-event show with Tomo and Scott here:
https://www.stitcher.com/show/slipangle/episode/oloa-prep-with-scott-robertson-and-tom-ogorman-83507776
plus, they're going to attempt to do some daily releases over the course of the week, with most of the top cars, and some others they know. Day 1 here:

or you can probably find it on your podcast app of choice
edit: Robert Thorne's day 1 video posted up this morning:
Robert Thorne is doing a great job with keeping up on his videos. A good view of the "varsity teams" at the top of the heap.
Andy Hollis reports a leaking front radiator and post comment that he might be done.
