Box flares have no "flare". They just move the whole fender vertical surface outward.

That's why they make everything awesomer.

I was thinking about how I have never seen a box flared Miata that looked good. Anyone care to prove me wrong?

I've seen plenty of rounded flares on Miata, but never anything all that boxy.

not exactly a boxy car they are very rounded so it's probably just upsetting to the design

That's because box flares work best on cars that look like boxes themselves. E30 M3, Delta Integrale, and so forth.

Miatas have no actual edges or corners (the reason why they look like poo) so box flares don't work on them unless you make them so rounded that they are no longer box flares.
