Even though we all work to make the motorsports world more inclusive for everyone, there is one barrier that’s still difficult for many to overcome: money.
To better support LGBTQ+ enthusiasts, Out Motorsports is offering a scholarship program that covers the cost of entry and hotel stay for five lucky contestants at each of its two Trackcross events this year …

Excellent! Is there a way to support that scholarship program financially? I looked on the website and didn't see anything.

Let me get someone who can help answer that question on the other line.

Hey there, so the scholarship is fully funded for 5 drivers per event at this point (thank you Toyota, Mazda, and Michelin!) but any additional funds we raise will allow us to accept a few more applicants.
All I can really offer is a Venmo Business account, but we can be found there @OutMotorsports if anyone would like to support.
Very cool, might have to add a couple stickers
Buy from them and that'll help fund more scholarships in the future PLUS you get cool swag.
Hey all - thanks Colin & David & co for sharing this with the GRM fam! I am super excited that this seemingly-crazy idea has come to fruition and we are able to do the dang thing. Between scholarship funds and other support (prizes, awards dinner, giveaways to all registered drivers) we have some very real support from a lot of brands - and people at said brands - who believe in greater inclusion and diversity in amateur motorsport.
Those brands (so far) are Toyota, Mazda, Michelin, Hawk Performance, Motul, OG Racing, and Grease Monkey Gloves. I have a few things cooking with others as well.
We would love to have anyone and everyone at our events, so long as you're not a jerk about getting more LGBTQ folks involved in this kinda thing. Both track weekends are held at Summit Point. Registration is open for May 7/8 here and October 8/9 here.
Donating now!
Edit: Except that there are no results in personal or business on Venmo that match that name.
Edit again: It helps if your fat thumbs dont spell it Mororsports. Found ya.

Ya know... these events are only about 3.5 hours from me. I'll have to check the schedule.

The idea and concept is so far from a crazy one. I'll also encourage any interested parties to check out your YouTube channel, as the content is properly topnotch and I suspect that pretty much everyone on here will find it to be subscription worthy.

I dont understand folks and why they would be against this/inclusion in non-hetero folks.
I hope you get a huge showing at these events, too far away for me, but I think I'll pick up some merch

Some people "don't care" very loudly as the equal existence of others not like them seems to make them feel threatened. In any case, we had a fabulous turnout last year (about 50 drivers) and I hope to see even more this year. I've received a lot of feedback from people who live farther than practical travel distance from the DC metro area, and it'd be awesome to expand the concept in 2023 and offer these events on the west coast, middle of the country, etc.
Freaking sucks man. I work in a high school and Ive got many students who struggle because of how they'll be percieved by their peers...I. Freaking. Hate. It.
Awesome about last year. Again, wish I could come, but I'll be contributing how I can.
Great job on getting the scholarships going. Thanks for being part of the solution!

Thank you for the reminder regarding decals, as I need to order some for the challenge car.
I was over the moon happy to receive notification that Susan, who I nominated, has been selected. I appreciate it greatly and feel that it will really be a watershed moment in her becoming involved in something that she has interest in, but has been hesitant in coming out to take part in. You have no idea how much I appreciate this, as I hope and feel not only will she enjoy the weekend, but that it will serve as a launchpad for her to become more comfortable and confident in getting involved in activities and hobbies that interest her. Thank you.
Yaaaay! Donation dollars in action!

Thank you for nominating her! I had to stop and gather myself several times last night sending out the five "congrats" emails for our May weekend, to be able to give away thousands of dollars in entry fees and hotel rooms for amateur motorsport is something I never thought I'd see in my circles, let alone be able to do myself.
In the meantime, we have plenty of (paid) space for others to still join us, and we'd love to have you all!
