Stock clutch in the MX-6 should be very easy to press down, with a long but progressive travel. You've got weirdness on your hands with that.

I've got long travel, and about a half inch to an inch engagement point that will throw the foot off the pedal of those not expecting it.
I mean, if it IS aftermarket, it might explain how it still grabs like crazy after about 20k miles of this basic setup being on the car.

The stock clutches in these cars don't die, at least at stock or near-stock power levels. I'm sure you've heard the stories about 200k miles on a turbo 626 or MX-6 with the original clutch. The stock clutch in my 626 had excellent characteristics at 100k miles and I wasn't easy on the car.
