My dad recently looked under the rear driver side wheel gap and saw the it wasn't covered up like the passenger side. It seems that the guard covering the components is missing or was it always like that? I don't remember how it looked before but both sides are different. Is this how it is supposed to be? It looks like a panel may be missing.
This is a 2002 Pathfinder.
Rear passenger (right side)
Rear Driver (left)
If no one can help, is there a good pathfinder forum for some help?
edit: Why don't the photos show up?
use the html tags instead of the img tags. try npora for some answers. they are one of the better pathfinder forums i've found.

I'd guess that the fuel filler for the Pathfinder is on the drivers side of the car, and that is what is hidden behind those covers.
That is what they are supposed to look like.

ok, let me rephrase my question. What is important on the right side that needs to be covered? the exhaust piping?
I don't know, there is some type of cover blocking it.

I would think the if anything needed to be covered, it would be the fuel line or brake line. Especially now that people are cutting up the fuel lines and stealing gas
