One of my $08 Team members got a little powdercoating gun and has had some good success with rims , parts ..ect..
We would like to powdercoat the tranny for our GRM car , the powder to do it isn'tmore then $10 , and it will make it nice and shiney
other then draining the fluid , do we need to worry about seals (internal / external?) it's a D series tranny from a89 Civic
Thanks!

Don't forget the rouge, it makes them feel pretty.
Seriously, if you're going to be baking it...it's going to need new seals.

are there inner seals is my worry.
Yes, there are. There is the input shaft seal, the axle seals, the shift rod seal, and the hondabond that hold the case halves together. There are also other plastic parts, such as the ball bearing dividers, the speedo gear, etc.
Short story, don't bake an assembled tranny. Take it apart, prep the case halves, and do it right. Or rattle can it.

Or just clean it up using a mag rim brightener....

Or ignore the oil encrusted engine bay and put a sucker assembly on the car - instant concourse win!
