pay no attention to the SRT-4, he had an upgraded turbo, nitrous, slicks(aired way too low), and i believe it was his first time at the track so he rolled back and forth through the lights a couple times trying to stage. with some practice he's going to have a quick ass little car, his trap speeds were high for what he was running and he was very inconsistent.

anyway i pushed the brick to 13.9@99.58 on 245/45/17 sumitomo HTR-Z's and a 2.73 open diff. if i felt like going with more gear and a posi i'd be better off but i usually only run once a year and i like going around corners more than going in a straight line.

proof that it doesnt just sit there and look pretty and pose for pics - but the car told me it still loves that it's picture was in GRM.

13.99 is VERY impressive for a car of that size/vintage. Nice work.

As for the SRT--noting lamer than someone w/ a full-blown drag setup who has no clue about any facet of drag racing. That's why street racers suck.

It's sad that the first time I get to see that car move is on the internet.

My '54 Belair is very jealous of yours right now. It couldn't go 99 MPH down hill with a tail wind and a rocket strapped to the roof.

And that's why Carli is so smart. I want to get out there, but you guys will have snow soon.

hah! mine was like that at first, i drove it for 2 years(1996 and 1997) with the rebuilt original 235 and powerglide. it was painfully slow, one time i got it up to 75mph going downhill on the interstate but it felt like it was going to shake apart.

i always tell people start off with a slow car and learn the fundamentals then start stepping up and going fast.

my girlfriend thought i was going to let her run the vette - dont think so.

i told her how i started off learning the basics in my old 18 second lumina.

I used to frequent Dragway 42 when I was working in Akron (lived in Canton), I saw that blue SRT4 a couple times, he always had trouble, there was someone else w/a red SRT4 that used to run high 11s, low 12s all the time. Tell me something does the guy w/the Chevy Trailblazer SS still run? He used to throw down high 12s low 13s which was histerical to watch...
