Another thread recently made mention that using the 1LE cars for HPDE days specifically doesn't void the warranty, like many high performance cars try to do. And yes, I know technically it would be denying a claim not voiding the warranty, so let's not go down that path.

I'm very, very seriously considering a Camaro SS 1LE next year if this info is true. It will also be my daily driver, but I only go to the office 3 days per week and it's 10 miles round trip. Of course, track insurance would be purchased for every event as well.

I was curious where someone saw or if they have a link?

Appropriately titled article:

"Yes! Chevrolet Will Honor Your Camaro's Warranty If You Take It to the Track

Trackday trouble? No problem, says chief engineer Al Oppenheiser. "

Awesome, thanks for the article link.

That was 1.5 years ago, hoping it still holds true as that will basically seal the deal between a Camaro or a Mustang (which would have to be modified to stay reliable).

I'd have to look it up, but I believe GM's Camaro test was something to the affect of 24 hours straight at the Milford proving track, changing gas and pads alone.  There are a crazy number of coolers on a number of the variants.

I'm surprised there aren't more people on here interested in the 6th gen Camaros.  If you look on the Camaro forums, there seem to be a number of current/former miata owners,  so word is perhaps slowly permeating to non-traditional muscle car people.

If their visibility wasn't similar to that of WW2 pilboxes, I might be more inclined to consider one.

Yes, that's exactly what draws me to the car. Massive brakes at all 4 corners and external coolers for the engine oil, transmission, and the diff.

And the tires aren't as bad as I would have guessed either.

Any if the ZL1 wheel setup fits :)

Cadillac was amazingly cool when I took the V wagon on One Lap. I took it to the dealer after the event with all the stickers on it and they replaced the rear end under warranty. GM is straight up awesome right now as far as supporting people playing with their cars in the way they're intended.

Nice! I was actually just thinking if I can get one next year, I would very seriously consider 2019 OLOA if I could swing the finances.
