In the spirit of not buying a different car and making SWMBO annoyed with me, I'm trying to fix anything on my '07 Mazda3 that is bothering me. Among the handful of things I can't abide is the pronounced wheel hop and engine lash.
I'm contemplating the CPE stage 2 mount, unless someone has tried the stage 1 (or another non-OEM option). Any advice?
Had the Street unit piece on my old MS3 and it made a world of difference, would suggest the street rating if its a DD. The Vibes will be there for about 500 miles but they work out as long as you have the softer mounts, the race are harder to deal with on a daily.
Who makes the best one; I'm getting ready to do one in my 5
I just bought and installed a Torque Solutions rear mount for my '12 Mazda 3. It does improve shift feel quite a bit (even though it didn't help my 1-2 grind issue that I bought it for). Biggest drawback is that it really rattles your brain at stop lights and in heavy traffic, especially with the A/C on. Pretty much all of the poly rear mounts do this. Mine has the 80 durometer bushing. Honestly, if it's a daily driver, get the softest one you can that's still poly. Jim Barone Racing makes a 70 or a 75 durometer mount.

Thanks for the info. Has anyone still felt the need for aftermarket side mounts after getting the rear mount?
On a related note, I finally figured out why my suspension has felt so weird, despite putting orange Konis on to replace my dead, stock dampers. Turns out, the sway bar end links need to be tightened with the weight of the car upon them.
I removed the front links, and there was no more clunk or jiggle. Plenty of sway, but the other problems disappeared. Putting the links back in the proper sequence did the trick.
A brake job and detailing should do the trick to keep me pleased with the car and not succumb to automotive ADD.
