It's a cloud car- cloud cars came with the SRT motor in Mexico before we ever got it here.... the Neon guys used to go snake em out of cop cars and E36 M3 in Tijuana.

Ostensibly, yes. Moreover to me anyhow, it's about making the most hilariously bad sleeper possible and using it to troll people. As an exercise in thought and theory, it's quite fun. Street racing is bad, but trolling some rich kid and his GTR with a E36 M3box Breeze or Cavalier.... now that's fun to think about.

I have a good friend who built a 13 second Kia Rio wagon. It was lowered, with nice rims, but you'd never guess it was that fast.

Buddy did a 4 door 06 silverado. Pulled the 4.8/4l60e, and installed a heads and cam LS1, a viper specced T56 and some 4.56s. Using a tahoe console the shifter even comes right up out of the cutout cup holder. Ran a quiet exhaust and left it pretty much stock looking outside.
Thing looks really unassuming but moves out real well for a truck, with the soft suspension and long wheelbase, when he does a dig launch it moves around so much it looks like its gonna put air under a front wheel (it obviously wont).
Here in TX most roll around in a diesel truck with a chip and think they are fast, its fun to drag them in that truck, occasionally he gets a bite from an Fbody or Mustang, that trucks caused some serious butt hurt.
We mostly just leave our stuff quiet and stock looking, Ive considered throwing some fart cans on the Z28 and going to the races.
A friend of the guy with the 06 did a similar build with a 5.3 and a lighter single cab truck and it moves out pretty good from a dig, I have a video of me and him racing, my camaro isnt that fast but he hung pretty good for a truck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42c2pEnkkA8

No there no farm truck, that thing was running 10s years ago and is considerably faster now, The 4 door looks similar when it launches though.
Yeah, ever since it hit TV, it's a lot faster than 10's. I'd be willing to bet that it's closer to 8's right now.

If you get bored, there is always the ole evo motor in a mirage trick. Or if you want torque, do the 4g64 instead. More HP than tires in most cases but when done right, it's a traveling smoke machine.

I think Westside knows a thing about that swap :D.... Those are well enough known that I am automatically suspect of any Mirage I see that isn't 100% bone stock.
