i am trying to find a rebiuld kit and shift kit for a th350 auto trans from a chevy truck. i am using it for my stock car and i want to rebuild a junk yard trans before i have it put it and trans in the car has no reverse so thats why i am changing it.
but trying to figure out what has that trans is hard to find..sigh....anyone know what prices could be or links or what this trans is in to look up online.
thanks.
Does it have the 4 prong square electrical connector on the case? If it does, there is a different set of years to use.
77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with a 305 shown below.
ATP Part # SMS9 Contains Friction and Steel Clutch Plates, Gaskets, Seals, O-Rings, Sealing Rings, Bushings, Vacuum Module, and Filter
Trans. code THM350; PLUS $71+ship.
Most of your early 80's GM products with a V8 will have the lockup version T350 called a TH350C. The 700R4 was optional through those years.

I loathe year/make/model crap.
Theses guys were great to deal with when i was setting up my f150 to haul a 11k trailer.

You'll find it all there and at good prices.

I hate to give away all the good places I have found/dealt with but www.wittrans.com is probably the best price/availability/part selection. Way, way, way better then bulkpart.
I just want to know when the yellowpages became outdated? I use the local suppliers and find, even after paying tax, I come about the same amount poorer. Case in point, I rebuilt a 727 Torqueflite and picked up a master kit, filter, and another paper and rubber kit for $75 locally without an account.

Shipping costs often offset the savings. I found often that buying local costs the same as internet.
Hmmm...
I don't have any input on your trans application...but can I go off topic and ask how hard/easy an auto trans rebuild at home is? I've never really considered it, but now (since I'm also looking at the stock car hobby), it seems like something I should look into.
Auto transmissions are a lot more prevalent...and if they're easy to rebuild (and the part/kit prices quoted here seem CHEAP!)...I'd be all for it.

You WILL spend $1k in specialty tools, period. Mostly because the bushing drivers are at least $400, spring press is either $225 for a vise model or $400 for a foot press model, plus all the other model specific tools. And that is to just to get started.
Brian
Well...that put an end to that little wild hare.
Thanks for the info...but I think I'll stick to sticks
