Hey,
I am putting together a First Aid kit for my '08 Corolla.
The factory jack and handle seem (almost) useless.
I am looking at this jack from Harbor Freight:

Price seems reasonable.
Anybody got any comments/suggestions?
TIA,
Rog Smith
I'd be wary of that jack from HF. Most scissor jacks are probably made in the same Chinese factory but In my experience, HF has the worst quality control.
If it were me, I'd get this one from the jungle website.
I bought the Torin version, similarly priced to HF. Primarily because of the wider base.
Some Porsches came with an aluminum scissor jack - I'm keeping my eyes open, they pop up from time to time.
Harbor Freight sells an aluminum hydraulic jack that seems to get good reviews, if you have the storage space I'd look at that instead of a scissor jack (the handle comes off and breaks down into two pieces). https://www.harborfreight.com/15-ton-low-profile-aluminum-racing-floor-jack-with-rapid-pump-64545.html
If you're on a tight budget another option would be to hit the local pick and pull salvage yard, and search in the car trunks to see if you can find a scissor jack that's more rugged than what you have.
