Anyone else watching Sebring? Good battles in GT2 and P1 in the closing moments.
Yep, they just said that if all goes well, the winning car should break the 1400 mile mark and set a new record.
Don't forget, Peugeot knows WRC rally, too. Nice to see them doing well at Sebring. Weird that P2 shrunk while P1 grew.
I'm not knocking, just surprised....I haven't been able to see any WRC for ages.
Man, there is something magical about orange lights at night on an old converted airfield....
Panoz has looked good--nice job. And recent GRM contributor Pat Long just moved up into fourth. Can they put it on the podium?
Spent all day in bed watching it...not as exciting as Daytona...but it was good to see some real racing for a change! McNish rocked that final stint like a pimp, way to be!
Great event, wish I could have made it down this year. Oh well, there is always next year.
The Panoz/Porsche battle was a lot of fun to watch, until the Porsche bought it.
I'm glad to see a strong showing for the Panoz after being parked for a while. I've always liked those cars.
I was hoping for a bit more of a fight between Audi and Peugot in the end, but what can I say. Audi runs a tight ship and it shows. Fantastic cars from both.
i was at work of course, but my dad kept me up to date with hourly text messages. If im still here next year i want to go down there, seems kinda dumb to live in florida and not make a daytona or sebring race...
Shame that the Montagny (sp?) couldn't match Bourdais' pace in their Peugeot. Bourdais was about a second a lap faster than the Audis until he got out, then Montagny finished the last 45 mins or so two seconds slower a lap. If seabass stayed in, it could have been phenomenal...
yeah, but Montagny certainly had it in him, in his previous stint he clocked the fastest lap to that point...a 1:43.987...Sebastian only had one lap that was faster in the next stint of a 1:43.432
Montagny could have done it, but he didn't....
I've got the whole thing recorded on my HD DVR and can't wait to watch it tonight after the kids go to sleep.
just got home from my week down there, spent, pissed that Peugot didn't win and Acura didn't fair so well. Had a great time as always. The real world sucks, I can't stay up drinking/partying to 4am until next year :(
HAHA!! Welcome back to the real world of hell... also known as your day job!
With 3 kids, I haven't stayed up drinking/partying to 4am in about... How old are my kids?
The last two hours are on the DVR tonight to watch along with Top Gear. Hopefully there are some good recaps.
Worked all weekend for World Challenge and IMSA.Yes it is different from the tower. It has been 29 years doing Timing and Scoring. This is also made the 40th anniversary of my first going to Sebring. The 1969 race was alot different than today. Wore my Grassroots shirt Friday and had David Robertson of Roberson Racing GT40 ask me if Grassroots was giving shirts away!!!!!!!
Sebring was full of entertainment, both on and off the track. I've got to admit I was pulling for the Peugeot, but the Audi team was just too precise. Camping was fun, and it was just flat out awesome to see the Cobra Daytona Coupe that clinched the title for Ford and the U.S. in 1965 on display. The Cobra was unguarded, and sat for all to see (and touch) for most of the event. It is really cool to see someone share a priceless car like that. (it will be going up for auction and is expected to bring more than $10 mil!)
And the natives loved the Eagle!
I liked the race just because ist 4 cars were Diesels, I have always thought that if you come up with a winning combination, you get banned or restricted out of competition. that is how racing has always been!! THX RON
