Disguise with a cross tube and some KC Daylighters so it kind of looked like a cheap 1970s lightbar instead of part of a cage. Hoon.
Lately I've been daydreaming about a hillclimb/autox truck like this.
I've had a number of 86 Toyota 1-ton long beds. The last one I modified a good bit, wheels, shocks, springs, swaybars, locker, etc. Made it far less useable actually. Wife and her father have had a number of earlier ones as well. All are tough as nails, and with their low beds, it's darn easy to stuff things into them. Seriously, the top of the sills on those trucks is lower than the bed is on my 4x4.
But of them all, the one I may have loved the most was an old Dodge Rampage. Arguably one of the most usefull min-trucks or faux trucks. Being fwd, it could go where the rear wheel drive Toyotas would be stuck (like up a wet hill). Not quite as powerfull, smaller bed, but lower still, and a lot more fun to drive.
It's been in the back of my mind to perhaps someday make a Shelby model of a Rampage. Not a new idea, I know. But delightfull sounding regardless.

Except it only ~153 inches long.
I was watching the original version of "Carrie" the other night and spotted what I think was a REPU. When the blond dude comes to Carrie's house to ask her to the prom he's driving a nice little red Mazda pickup with a ladder rack that sounds like a rotary. Of course it could be an overdub but it's still a nice little truck.

My guess- Ex Red Bull promo car
Wonder if that trunk has any useable function.

Wow that takes me back to high school. There was a guy with a LUV done up like that back in '89.
Jeez I'm gettin old.
Woo another thread to whore out my old Nissan 720. I had for about 6 months. It was a nice little truck, just not enough truck to tow a car with.

The blonde dude was the Greatest American Hero.

Yeah, now that I've seen the still pic I think you may be right. Still sounded good!
