A Miata I just need to figure how to haul a 61/2' window cleaning pole, only a few times a month. I think I can get the 6' ladder across the trunk with a truck top rack. Everything else will fit in the trunk. I'd like not to have to go hardtop, otherwise I guess I could just get a roof rack. I thought I saw pics of lots of setups of this type awhile back, now I can't find anything. Any input?

If you get a roll bar I would think you could put something across the window frame and roll bar? or passenger foot well, between the seats and over the trunk 6ft shouldn't be too bad

Passenger side footwell then tie the other end where it passes over the seat.

The answer is always Polara.

Unzip the rear window and you can put really long stuff down into the pass footwell.

Only 6.5'? That's easy. I carried a 10' roll of carpet in mine a couple weeks ago.

Did it have a dead hooker rolled up in it?

Well as you know the Miata trunk is only about 1/2 dead hooker size so I had to improvise.

I've carried 2x4x8 in miatas before. End in the passenger's footwell top tied to the rollbar with a towel over the rollbar....Next problem?

Get a little trailer and pull whatever you want behind it.

Giggle as people stare in amazement at a Miata hauling a ladder on a trailer.

Did that with my 99 Miata. Was at the local hardware store picking up paint supplies and noticed that the long poles were on sale. Bought it and then figured out how to get it home with the Miata. Drop the top, lay pole along the side of the car on top of the door, secure at mirror and to the folded top rails. I used rope and added an extra securement to the passenger seat back. As I was tying it down someone walked by and asked if I was going Miata-jousting.

As for the ladder, maybe a rollcage or as stated above, a trailer.

You must like fat hookers. I never had a problem.

Well, when you're into 5 year olds, you can fit a little over one dead hooker in the boot of a Miata.

Out of 6 vehicles, the only one I own with a trailer hitch is the Manic Miata.
