It has the opposite effect on me.
Seriously, I've been complaining about that pop up when using my iPad forever.
Each time I'm told its on the list of things to fix, but at this point I'm not so sure it is. Really, guys, that thing doesn't help anything beyond annoying users.
I've tried to remove it while surfing the forums on my nook. All it does is shrink a little. Doesn't disappear at all when I click on the X.
It pops up for me regularly on my 1st gen ipad, but at least when I click on the x it goes away. 
My big problem with it is that it covers the thread titles so I can't see them.
This must be something that only shows up on portable devices? I've never seen it on my computer.
Doesn't show up on my galaxy tab 3. I also browse holding the tablet vertical, though I'm not sure that makes a difference.
Used to get that consistently on the old Droid X2 but disappeared w/ the new Galaxy S5, coincidentally about the same time as the site fixes.

Yeah, no problem on my computer, just the iPod. Hor or vert doesn't matter.
I at least used to have the same problem when using the built-in browser (and I think also on Chrome). I tend to read the forum using Opera Coast and that never showed me the subscription popup. Might be worth a try.
I have not seen that pop-up in a while. Using either an ipad mini or an iphone 5
I have not seen it on either my laptop or my iThing.
Hmm, I'm not seeing it on my iPad 1 whether logged in or not.
We'll ask our IT guys to check it out.
It does not pop up all the time. I can't see a pattern as to when it does pop up. It is far more prevelent on the ipad 1 than my htc phone. My laptop died (windoze 7, firefox) but I don't think I ever saw it on there.

It's probably best to ignore it. This whole mobile devices fad is sure to go the way of the Betamax as soon as people find out they can get a more powerful system with a 27" monitor for the same money. No need to accommodate these newfangled things.
I'm on an iPad 1 posting this right now and the Subscribe Now flies under the keyboard without issue before eventually disappearing.

Old Droid x2 got it all the time and made the site un usable. Ever since I got my new windows based phone it has not popped up again.
My old galaxy did it but my Nexus 5 doesn't. Both had firefox mobile.
