I'm debating using a FWD car or 4x4 pickup / suv upright for a mid engine car design. I'm looking for big bearings and an ability to support a wide 18x12 wheel. Anyone know a good strong upright/hub combo for a dual a-arm setup? I'd like to stick with a 5x4.5" bolt circle, but I can adapt. Goal is v-8 power and light car with bearings which will last and the same uprights front and rear to minimize spares .

thx, -Trent

C5 Corvette. The front and rear spindles are the same and take drive hubs. The C5 is a double A frame design.

Why not just use the hubs, uprights, and axles from the car that will be donating the transmission?

Another vote for C5.

This is a good idea. If you don't do this, you will need to have custom axles or CV cups made, which can get pricey.

Correct. The Solstice/Sky cars use similar units that are very durable.
