This one's broke worse (in more places) than the first one. Spitting mad!

Complete incompetence all around. Harbor Freight can't be bothered to package an item for delivery, FedEx doesn't give a rip how it handles an item, and I was stupid enough to not just get my money back the first time.

I know it is easy to get on both UPS and Fed Ex when thinhs go wrong. However, I order a lot of car stuff on line as well as get a lot of business related orders delivered and picked up (almost every day) by both UPS and Fed Ex. My drivers are always pleasent and courtious and seem to try and do a good job. These guys deliver hundreds of packages a day with out incident. Some of the fault has to lie with the shippers who packaging leaves a lot to be desired. My absolute worst deliveries are those by the US Postal Delivery. Unless it can be stuffed in a mail box getting out of their truck seems to be a major problem and attitude issue.

The new grill for my Charger arrived today. The side of the box was smashed in the UPS guy dropped it at the door and ran he didn't even knock.

Thank god the shipper actually packed it well. Extra wraps around the mounting posts and the grill itself was wrapped in foam and bubble wrap.

So, if the care of your package during shipping largely falls on the attitude of the delivery persons, how do you incentivize the employees to care? Are there any patterns in the policy of the three major carriers we are talking about that correlate with observed results from each?

Of course not! This is the internet! Commence anecdotes and if all else fails, blame China!
