So in mine and Dusters truck threads I keep seeing a lot of "Oh I have one too" posts. Let's put some pictures and a short description of the setup, use and future plans for your truck. I'll do an index of them and then I'll do a list of great links.

1995 Silverado. 5.7, 4l60e, 3.42 gears. Beige on beige. Plans still developing.
Why the hate for the ex's 99 Suburban?
I legit miss 2 of my last ones. 4/6 Lowered longbed 89 gmc with a 305/5 speed and my most recent 90 short bed 454/5 speed 1500.
What year did they drastically change the engine's output? There was a year there '96, '97, '98 maybe where they made a quantum leap with what marketing named "Vortec". I remember my coworker dropping the hammer on his new one and being seriously impressed. Wait, it's sort of like...fast. New trucks then were supposed to be slow we thought. I think it was rated like 250 hp or something.
I'm going to butt in here, even though my truck is too old. 1985 Chevrolet C30 Big Dooley Silverado, former horse country road tractor that spent her early life pulling 6-horse trailers. SBC 350/TH400. I've owned her since the turn of the millennium. I do maintenance, fix what breaks. She doesn't ask for much, but always delivers. Great truck.

Yeah so they're typically referred to as 88-98 but the 3/4 and 1 tons and SUVs were GMT400s up to 2000.
In reply to solfly :
I know. Between the ex and I we own 3 different crossover year Chevies. Just giving you a hard time. Here's my 88.
Damn, realized I don't have a photo of my current gmt400 , it's a 1990 WT1500, 4.3 5spd standard cab 8 foot bed. Bought it as I miss having a older truck with a real bed. It's pretty rust free for a PA truck meaning it only needs cab corners, some how the rockers are still solid. Only real plans is either a leveling kit or a 3/5 drop kit as I use it for truck stuff. I keep floating a LS swap but I need to get some house work done first and finish my Vw Mk2 project. I also owned the same basic truck 10 years ago but white instead of silver.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
Wow, I was looking for a similar truck off and on for a few years but in the NE they command a decent cash lay out for a not rot box which I couldn't justify.
88 Silverado c2500, 350/700r4. 3.73 fourteen bolt with an aftermarket limited slip.
Bought in eastern California, owner moved to west Texas. Willed to his grandson, then given to me about 12 years ago.
Milage is unknown, was about 243,000 when the odometer quit in about the year 2000. Estimated at 350,000 when I got it.
February 2018, bringing home my first Miata.
February 2020, thousand mile tow over four days.

If you've got a thread here or somewhere let's post links for them too.

Basic 4.8 on Microsquirt with a single turbo and a th400. Running six pounds after last falls Incident with pistons number 7 on 10psi.
Future plans include taking it this week for provincial inspection so I can drive it around again. Maybe a new battery and someday I'll install the 14bolt rear end I have sitting behind the garage for it.

I *was* an owner until as recently as this June.
The new owner will most likely love it much more than I did, but I accomplished the goal I had when I bought the truck, which was to get it out of the field it was rotting in and get it back on the road.
Here's mine doing truck stuff - a yard of stone in the bed.
'96 GMC K1500. 350, 5 speed 3.42's
Here's mine, a bit of a older shot. 1993 K2500 Silverado 6.5L TD, 5-speed, 3.73 gears. Mechanical injection, manual transmission, no computers to be found.

Looks suprisingly rust free in this picture, but it's been rolling around the last 9 months with black POR15 all around the wheel arches.
Mine's an '89 C1500 Short Bed Regular Cab with a 350 TBI and 700R4. I purchased it as a project several years ago...the heads had been removed for a head gasket job and the previous owner lost interest/momentum/etc.
I love this truck.
Before the photo I eventually posted above, all I had on my new computer was photos of the truck doing truck stuff in file folders of other projects it has hauled around as seen below.
Getting Hay using the car hauling trailer:
Taking the Futura to get some exhaust work:
Going to get BentValve's old '69 C10:
Back at home with BenValve's old C10 (notice, 4 generations of GM truck in this shot):
Hauling the "race" car to the beater field rally races:
I'm smitten with the Throttle Body Fuel Injection in these trucks. So much so that I bought this GMC Suburban as a drivetrain donor for our Square Body Suburban (seen a couple photos up):
I love this thread. Turns out i have precisely 0 decent pictures of my 88 RCSB which is a project I've never really started. I bought it off my uncle shortly before he passed. I also technically own a 94 Ext cab flareside 4wd, but it may become a partout. That's mostly up to the wife. It's a cool spec but looks wise it is very rough inside and out. Both are totally rust free as far as i know. Maybe ill follow this post up with something cool some day.
